Buying a Pure-Bred Dog
We endorse purchasing from reputable breeders. Many breeds have specific genetic problems which only an established and reputable breeder will be aware of. Puppies should be purchased from breeders who have the best interests of their breed at heart. Responsible breeders are concerned with the betterment of the breed and the health and welfare of their puppies. See how the dogs in the breeder's home interact with the breeder. Are they outgoing and friendly, or do they shy away? Are the premises clean? Does the breeder willingly share information and ideas about the care and training? The breeder should provide you with an AKC litter registration for the puppy. You should receive at least a three generation pedigree and a record of inoculations and wormings that the puppy has received.
Don't breed unless you are finacially and ethically prepared to do it properly.
Millions of dogs are destroyed annually because they are unwanted!!
